Journal Entry 42: Poetry

Poetry is a very ancient kind of writing that people write from a long time ago till now. Poetry are very different from other kinds of writing. They are different in many different ways. One example is that the format of the writing. Other forms of writings are mostly sentence after sentence, while poetry are mostly very short phrases each line. They are sometimes sentences and they are sometimes not sentences. And also other forms of writing usually use paragraphs for three or more sentences usually related to each other. While poetry use stanzas for a group of phrases or sentences. And another example of the difference between poetry and other forms of writing is that most poetry rhymes. And that is what makes poetry fun and interesting. Their similarities is that they both express something and they are all build up by words. Yes, poems can do the same things as other forms of expression. Poems can do things like make it sound more interesting or describe something very detailed that other forms of writing can't. And yes I do see poetry these days. I see them most in slogans or commercials and they use poems to try to attract customers.  And also in schools where students learn to write different forms of writing. Although you don't notice it, poems are everywhere in our life.
